The Directorate-General for Energy and Geology is responsible for setting the number of end customers who benefit from the social tariff, under the terms of the protocol to be defined by the members of the Government responsible for the areas of finance, social security and energy.

For this purpose, the electricity traders forward to the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology the information necessary to identify the holders of electricity supply contracts.

What is the duration of the condition of beneficiary of the Social Tariff?

The maintenance of the social tariff depends on the confirmation, by the General Directorate of Energy and Geology, in September of each year, of the condition of economically vulnerable end customer.

Who applies the discount associated with the Social Tariff?

Breakdown of Financing Costs for the Social Tariff

Following the publication of Directive No. 4 by ERSE, the Regulatory Authority for Energy Services, concerning the Breakdown of Financing Costs for the Social Tariff for all customers in the national electricity system,

We inform you that this charge will be reflected on your invoice as a separate line item for consumption recorded from the month of April onwards.

What are Regulation Charges, including mFRR?

With the increasing integration of unpredictable renewable energy sources into the electricity system, it has become increasingly necessary to activate power generation plants to supply the network with the energy needed to meet consumption demands at any given time.

Regulation charges ensure the stability and evolution of the electricity system, promoting the security of electricity supply and compensating power plants that provide this service to the system.

The mFRR is an important reserve to guarantee the reliability and stability of the electricity system, used to correct frequency deviations when necessary. However, it operates with a slower and more controlled response and is manually activated by the Transmission System Operator (TSO), who is also the overall system manager.

These charges vary monthly, are passed on to electricity consumers, and are essential for achieving the country's environmental and energy goals.

At Yes Energy, these charges are itemized on the bill under the line "Regulation Charges, including mFRR" and vary monthly according to the actual costs incurred by the electricity system due to these activations.
